Hosting is where your web site actually sits.

You can have your site on your own computer at work or home. Unfortunately, it would only be accessible to the world when your computer was actually on and you were connected to the internet. In addition, if you were on a normal 56k modem then the world's access to your site would be severely restricted.

You can pay someone to host your site but you are looking at a cost from $25 per month upwards depending on various factors. One good hosting site for Australian users is

 Oz-Emarket.com (yes its a .com but it is owned and run by Aussies in Australia.)

This is the host I am currently using.

Any type of hosting can be arranged depending on the clients wishes.
